How the QCA schemes of work may
supplement the AMV schemes of work at Key Stage 3
Please note that the QCA scheme:
·
is incomplete and alone does
not fulfil the minimum requirements for curriculum time for RE stated in the
locally agreed syllabus, namely 45 hours per year at Key Stage 3;
·
does not provide a sufficient
balance or coverage of religions other than Christianity (see AMV, 2004, page 51);
·
does not provide a balanced
coverage of AMV’s six areas of enquiry;
·
does not cover all the AMV units or learning opportunities.
